Twelve Scottish matches postponed.
Hamilton v Dundee United in the Scottish Premier League was postponed 15 minutes before kick-off as freezing weather forced 12 Scottish games off.Forfar Athletic's Third Division match against Berwick Rangers was first to fail a Saturday inspection at 1000 GMT.
Ayr and Queen of the South in the First Division and the Division Three matches at Annan, East Stirlingshire, Elgin and Forfar were called off later.
All of the matches in Division Two succumbed to the freezing temperatures.
Elgin City against Stranraer was also postponed close to kick-off, but Dundee United manager Craig Levein was not disputing the decision made at Hamilton's New Douglas Park.
"It was actually quite deep, the snow, he said. "The ball wasn't running without gathering snow on it.

"The forecast was snow for two hours. It doesn't take a genius to work out that maybe it was the right decision."
Levein, who has had his run-in with officials in the past, joked: "I thought the referees had a good game actually!
"We're laughing about it, but there wasn't any snow at half-past.
"I came back down the tunnel at quarter-to and I couldn't believe it."
Levein was hoping to see his side make amends for Tuesday's 3-0 home defeat to Rangers.
"It was a great opportunity for us to get Tuesday out of our system and that's the biggest disappointment for me," he said.
"I senses a real keenness from the players to atone for their disappointing display."
